Publication Ethics

The American International Journal of Computer Science and Technology (AIJCST) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in publication. NextGen Scientific Publication aims to adhere to the Best Practice Guidelines framed on Publication Ethics (COPE) and abides by its Code of Conduct. To ensure the integrity of our journal, we follow established ethical guidelines for authors, reviewers, and editors. Manuscripts should not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must submit original work that has not been published elsewhere. Any work that involves previously published material must be properly cited. Plagiarism, in any form, is strictly prohibited.

Authorship

Authors should accurately represent their contributions to the work. All individuals who contributed significantly to the study should be listed as authors.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. Authors must declare current or recent funding (including for article processing charges) and other payments, goods or services that might influence the work. All funding, whether a conflict or not, must be declared in the ‘Acknowledgments’. If there are none, the authors should state, “The author(s) declare(s) that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this paper.” Submitting authors are responsible for co-authors declaring their interests.

Data and Results

Authors must ensure that all data and results are accurately presented and that research findings are not fabricated or manipulated.

Ethical Compliance

Authors must ensure that their research complies with relevant ethical standards, including but not limited to, human subjects or animal research ethics.

Data Accuracy

Data must be presented accurately, and any fraudulent or manipulated data is considered unethical. Authors may be required to provide raw data for verification.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of funding agencies, institutions, and individuals contributing to the research must be provided.

Misconduct and Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using advanced tools. Instances of ethical misconduct, such as falsification, fabrication, or plagiarism, will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript. If discovered post-publication, the article will be retracted.

Ethical Guidelines for Research Involving Humans or Animals

Human Subjects: Research involving human participants must comply with ethical standards such as the Declaration of Helsinki. Authors should provide information about ethical approval and informed consent.

Animal Studies: Research involving animals must follow ethical guidelines for the care and use of animals in research.

Editorial Responsibilities

The editor of a journal has complete authority to accept or reject a submitted paper, without management influence. They may consult with associate editors, co-editors, and peer-reviewers. Decisions should be timely, fair, and unbiased, regardless of author’s background. Editors, authors, and peer reviewers must disclose any interests that may affect their ability to present data objectively. Conflicts of interest should be avoided.

Fairness

Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual content, without discrimination.

Confidentiality

Information related to submitted manuscripts must remain confidential and not be disclosed to anyone except the corresponding author, reviewers, or publisher as appropriate.

Publication Decisions

Editors have the responsibility to decide which articles are suitable for publication based on peer-review feedback and journal policies.

Research Documentation

It is crucial that the authors document the findings of their study so that other researchers can analyze and examine it prior to publication and for a fair amount of time later. Fabrication is a type of scientific misconduct that is considered extremely unethical and may even be illegal in some jurisdictions. Examples of this include reporting results that were never undertaken or that are misleading or deceptive.

Publisher Responsibilities

Ethical Oversight: The publisher ensures the integrity of the journal’s content by supporting editors and promoting ethical standards.

Corrections and Retractions: If errors, plagiarism, or unethical behavior are identified, the publisher works with editors to correct or retract the article promptly.

Archiving: The publisher ensures the digital preservation of all published articles.
